Technology Department
The Technology Department is concerned with helping people to extend the capabilities of their bodies, brains and senses so that they can make more effective use of their lives. The main focus of the work is exploring the needs of people and designing and making artefacts,
systems and environments in a variety of materials. Working safely with the right equipment for the job is also a major feature and ICT, along with the computer aided design and manufacture, are central to our work. The department has a CAD, CAM suite to support
industrial practices. Students can choose to follow a full GCSE course in Design Technology through one of the Technology subjects -
Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Food.
