PRIMARY SCHOOL LINKS
Sutton Centre has strong links with its “Family” of Primary Schools. Teachers from the Centre visit Primary Schools throughout the year.

We are well supported by our primary school colleagues at all stages and are grateful for their involvement in this transition process and the invaluable advice and information they share with us which is greatly to the benefit of the students. Primary School children have contacts with the Centre through 11th Sessions, Drama and sporting events. All this helps to build relationships and confidence about the move into secondary education.

The actual process of transfer is very thoroughly planned. Our Key Stage 3 Manager and Year Leaders arrange visits for children and parents to see the school. Primary school staffs are consulted so that groups can be carefully put together and students and their parents are invited to meet their tutor well before starting in September. This is a very important time for children and their parents and great care is taken to answer all their questions and to make the move to the secondary school as smooth as possible.
